This Privacy Policy describes how PaperUp ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you use the PaperUp website and document preparation services (the "Services").
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, including:
- Account information. Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Matter information. Details about your dispute, the parties involved, contract terms, and damages claimed, which you supply through the guided questionnaire.
- Payment information. Billing details processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.
- Communications. Messages you send us through support channels.
We automatically collect limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited for security and analytics purposes.
2. How we use information
- To generate, save, and deliver your court-ready documents.
- To conduct conflict-of-interest checks before any partner-attorney handoff.
- To process payments and provide customer support.
- To improve the Services, including the questionnaire flow and document templates.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With your direction. If you request an attorney consultation, we share your matter with the partner firm you select, after conflict clearance.
- With service providers. Hosting, payment processing, and email delivery vendors operating under confidentiality obligations.
- For legal reasons. When required by law, valid legal process, or to protect rights and safety.
4. Security
We encrypt your data in transit using TLS and at rest using AES-256. Access is limited to personnel who need it to operate the Services. No system is perfectly secure, but we take commercially reasonable steps to protect your information.
5. Retention
We retain matter information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to satisfy our legal obligations and resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account at any time.
6. Your rights

7. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
